Opinel – No.06 Oak
The nobility of the oak in a No.06
Ideal for outdoor activities and sports, the No.06 is also practical and efficient for daily manual work (small crafts and sewing). Its size is particularly suited to the most petty hands.
It offers an excellent cutting quality. The safety ring allows the user to work without any risks.
Our oak comes from France. It is a hard wood, very resistant, including to insects and fungi thanks to a high tannin content. It has a yellow-brown appearance, with regular veining.
Sandvik stainless steel
We use Sandvik 12C27 modified stainless steel. It is anti-corrosive thanks to the addition of chrome and requires no special maintenance. Its carbon content of at least 0.40% gives excellent cutting edge.
Invented by Marcel Opinel in 1955, the Virobloc safety ring is fitted to all folding knives from the No.06. Cut out of stainless steel, the Virobloc has two sections, one fixed and one sliding. In addition to locking the blade open (safety in use), it is now possible to lock the blade closed (safety in transport).
